Love- The Christian Hallmark

 


The love of God goes beyond tribes, denomination, race, status, and age. As Christians we need to allow the love of God flow within us not only in words but in our action. In 1John 4; 7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. The apostle john declared that God is love, the origin and fountain of love.

True and genuine love originates from God, the father and is shed abroad in the hearts of those who have a relationship with him. God demonstrated his love to the world by giving his only begotten, beloved, and blessed son as a perfect offering for our sins so that through him, we might have eternal life. Jesus Christ also voluntarily laid his life for the salvation of the world. 

The only way a man can actually manifest God’s kind of love is by firstly accepting Christ in his life then God fills such heart with his love. This love can then begin to manifest in action

  • Obeying God’s commandment to his children; By looking out for others.  According to Mattew 22; 37 Jesus said unto him, thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.38 This is the first and great commandment.39 And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy Neighbour as thyself. 
  • Giving and helping others without expecting recognition or appreciation 
  • Avoiding vices like malice, unforgiveness, criticism, revenge, backbiting, bitterness, selfishness towards anyone.

  • Do all the good you can,  
  • By all the means you can,  
  • In all the ways you can  
  • At all the times you can,  
  • To all the people you can,  
  • As long as ever you can. 

Love by Works (putting action to love); people of today want to see love in action not by word. love is not just by word; it is a decision that is backed up by actions. love is often misunderstood as pleasant feelings and warm affection, but it is way beyond that, it is about how we treat others. 

  • Love is kind,
  • Considerate and sensitive to others feeling,
  • Love is patient and enduring,
  • Love is forgiving,
  • Love is thoughtful, seeks to empathize with others,
  • Love is not rude, not loud, not harsh,
  • Love is not resentful or self-seeking, it does not rejoice over sin or downfall of others. 

Have you ever wondered in your little corner how you treat others, by your action or how you speak, we may be guilty, especially in our action not matching with the word love. we can start love in action by.

Correcting in love; When a person offends you- the first step is not to broadcast the wrong but call the individual privately and call his or her attention to the wrong done. As followers of Jesus, we need to access our life daily and be more thoughtful before we speak or take action towards others.  

Self-sacrificing / self-giving in love; there is no selfishness in love. It is giving up something you love to help others.  just like Christ gave up his life, heavenly home, royalty just to reconcile sinners back to God. you see your brethren in need, and you know you have access to that need, or you have more, share with the brethren. 

Bearing other's burdens; Love is a decision made to bear one another's burden not by word but in action. your neighbor is hungry , prayer for provision is good, dont just pray and walk away, give from the little you have to feed your Neighbour , a person is in need of information and you have it, don't hide it, share the information that can help at that point of need, you see someone in danger and you hide your face by saying none of your business, that does not portray  Christlike , your respond should be warn the person of the danger ahead. 


I pray that as we profess that we are God children and we love God with the whole of our heart, it will show in our action towards others in Jesus' name, amen. 

Have you ever asked God for something, and he gives you more than your request, all we need do is based on Jeremiah 33; 3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. This is a Story of a little boy asking God to give him a pair of shoes. According to the story, God answered his prayer, he not only got a pair, but he got more than he could have ever imagine. This is God in action to his children desire and request. what are you asking God for in your life. Philippian 4 19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Ephesian3;20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Be rest assured that God can and will perfect all that concerns you in Jesus' name. Amen.
