⦁ The couple was able to observe the problem surrounding them
⦁ The day they realize the constant problem, they did not accept the problem as part of life, unlike how some Christians behave today, some will go as far as saying, that's how God want them to suffer.
⦁ They took it to God in prayer
Lesson to learn as children of God today, we need to understand who we are in Christ Jesus, Luke 10; 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. There are so many problems in this world that can shake one's faith, but we should rest on Gods promises and authority to overcome all problems that may come our way. Psalm 46; 1-2 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore will not we fear.
A Christian who neither know nor dominates their space will suffer. In other not to suffer, Christians, need to know their space and take charge;
⦁ Spiritual space; you acquire this space the moment you repent of your sins, you surrender your life to Christ and confess Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour. Ephesian 2;6- And hath raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
⦁ Physical Space; This space comprises of your spouse, parent, children, member of the body of Christ, finances, security, health and so on. Knowing this space allows you to diligently watch over them so the devil does not pitch his tent in those areas of yours. In 1 peter 5;8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. Being watchful while praying, observing any change and putting them in God hands
⦁ Mental Space; the devil starts messing with the mind of a Christian by invading their thought with evil suggestion, fear, anxiety, worry and negative thought. As Christians, in 2corinthians 10;5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. Every point the devil comes to invade your thought, you need to cast and bind those thought away from our mind and those thought will vanish away in Jesus' name, Amen. we should confess God's promises and plan daily in our life. Jeremiah 29; 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
⦁ Parental Space; Psalm 127; 3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. parental position is like a guard or watchman who looks after a building either day or night. A guard is not ignorant of his surroundings or the building he is familiar with it and knowledgeable about the space he is watching over. Only God has the manual to Raising children; As parents, asking God for wisdom in raising your children is the very first step in watching over your children successfully. Psalm127 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. in other to carry out our Godly responsibilities as Parents, we should not be ignorant or clueless about what's going on in the life of our children, we should take charge by being involve ( having frequent conversations/ listening to them) in their spiritual life, academic, marital life, health, and personal life.
As Christians you need to always remember that understanding space and defining space is all about knowing who you are in Christ. This will help you exercise or discharge your rights and obligation without fear or intimidation in any situation that comes your way. I pray that from this day you will begin to exercise your right in Christ in Jesus name. Amen
Hold the Fort
Holding the fort means to maintain a secure position. As Christian we need to know that, the time is almost up, Christ is coming soon, and the devil knows this. The devil is not resting, he is waging war so that Christian will not maintain their relationship with God or make heaven. Humans are faced with situations that can easily derail or distract them from the heavenly race. 1 peter 5;8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
To keep on maintaining our position in Christ till he comes, we need to
⦁ Look unto Jesus; Heb 12;2; Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. John 1633 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
⦁ Stand on the word of God; God is the answer to all situation that is facing all human race. Cast all burden to him; psalm 55 22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. you need to remember that when you can call on him, claim his promise and rest on it to sustain you and he will see you through
⦁ Praying without fainting; Luke 18;1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint. it is a fact that the devil steals the zeal to pray from Christian when faced with challenges. The devil fills the heart with hopelessness, anxiety and also make Christian feels God has forgotten them. Romans 8; 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Christians need to remain calm and in their challenges because God still loves them, and God always keeps his promise that he will never leave us nor forsake us.
⦁ Take the shield of Faith; just like Hezekiah, he prayed and had faith, God changed the death sentence. Your level of faith tells God how much you trust him to move his hands on your situation. Remember that what man sees impossible, it is possible with God. Luke 1; 37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
⦁ Remain at your post; some Christians vacate their position / service in Christ when faced with challenges. This is dangerous because devil weakens the faith of such Christian. Whatever service you render to God before challenges of life, remain in God and he will see you through. Ephesian 3; 20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. God is able to do more than we ask or think, he sees us and now whatever his children is going through. he is always ready to fix any challenges. i pray that you will remain in your service to God in Jesus name, Amen.
⦁ Learn; There are lessons to be learned during challenges, be observant on the issue that cause the challenges and draw closer to God for you to apply wisdom to make necessary changes.
⦁ Be thankful; in every situation you face, giving thanks is important because the bible admonishes us to do so. 1Thessalonian 5 18 In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. There is a lot to give thanks for; his love, protection, and uncountable blessings we see every day, and battles that he won for us. pray that we will be grateful to God for daily miracles we see and the unseen battles he win for us in Jesus name, amen.
I pray that as we follow all the action above the lord will grant you the needed victory you have been waiting for in Jesus' name Amen.
