Stabilized, Sure and Steady- Child Training

From the picture posted to your here, A story of Alice and her husband was shared about their waiting to conceive. After so much prayer, God answered their prayer. The couple dedicated their time to lay biblical foundation on love, sharing, justice, salvation, and many more for their son. This reflected in their son’s life (both academically and spiritually) .  

We are reminded that as Christian parent, Proverbs 22;6- Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

A foundation is an integral part of a building and its whole essence is to hold up the building. This can be applied to laying a solid strong Christian foundation for our children from early age because the bible already commanded us to train our children in the way he should go which is God's way.

How do we then fulfill the bible passage in Proverb 22;6 and also how do we build this solid Christian foundation in our children?

• Parent relationship with God; We cannot do this with our human strength or wisdom. Parent need a genuine encounter with God first. in Matthew 19;26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. 
•  Parent living by example; there's a saying that you cannot give what you don't have. living a Christ like life for your children to emulate.
• Creating a God-centered atmosphere; having a regular devotion time with family, prayer altar, attending church services
•  Introduce your children to bible reading, Godly books that teaches them about the bible and Christian living. 
•  Involving your children early in evangelism or outreach activities will give them understanding of wining souls for the kingdom.

The benefit of laying solid foundation are;  

• Helps children maintain a stabilized spiritual life
• They will be filled with righteousness, holy Ghost and prepare them for God's service. 
• Builds their faith in God 
• Prepares them to maintain their faith in Christ during temptation from friends or life in general; Just like the story we learned that Alice’s son didn't compromise his faith when his Dean of faculty at the university sent him an ungodly errand that can compromise his faith. ( just like in Daniel 3:16-18 . 16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. 17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
• There will be peace for Parent, society and also the child
• Heaven bound children

I pray that as Godly parent, God will help us to raise Godly and heaven bound children in Jesus name, Amen.
