Practical Christlike Love from Transformed Hearts

 



As transformed Christians whose lives have been washed by the blood of the lamb and surrendered to Christ, we are expected to express practical and Christlike love to others. 1 john 4- 7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. Loving people should not be restricted to families and friends who will reciprocate our kind gesture but to strangers in communities, and nation today. A true followers of Christ will love in a practical like 
  1. Christ show love in sacrificial way by giving up his life for our sin; you can show live by also giving to the needy Neighbour around you 

  • 2. Christ gives us peace and joy; we also should not cause others sorrow but live peaceable with all men Romans12; 14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. 15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. 16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. 17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

  • 3. Christ loves first and gave his life for us; Christ did not wait for us to love him first, he first loved us. As Christ follower, when you see that a person is in need, you do not have to wait for the person to seek your help, you can go ahead and help. 

  • 4. Christ was not seeking for appreciation; our help toward others should not be to receive public appreciation or glory, but our help should be pure and genuine. 

Perverted mindless love of friendly foes 

Friendly foes are people who act like they love but their heart is deceitful, they manipulate harm those they profess to love. In 1 john 3 11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. If you love your Neighbours as Christ commands; 

  • you will not gossip, speak evil of others 
  • You will not deceive them, 
  • You will not stay silent when they are in danger but rather you will look out for them and alert then when you sense danger 
  • You cannot be jealous of their progress and achievement in life or wish them evil 

Permanent mutual love in the family; When family members love one another sacrificially and genuinely, there will be no divorce in the family. Love starts from home; we must show practical love in our family before extending it to others outside. Husband and wife must be 

  • Loving toward each other, not intimidating the other,  
  • Respectful in words and behavior 
  • Not arrogant but selfless in sacrificial giving in the family 

As children with older parent who are retired; respectful towards them; Exodus 20; 12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. Celebrate them, provide for their need, and make them happy. 

Profitable Ministerial Love for the Flock; As ministers of the gospel, just as Christ laid down his life for the church,  

  • 1. Ministers must love them like Christ did –1 john 3 16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
  • 2. Ministers must not be too demanding, authoritative, or quick to find fault; Philippian 215 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world. 
  • 3. Ministers should take diligent care of the flock, serve them with love, joy and cheerfulness. 2 Timothy 1; 6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. 
  • 4. Ministers should express fervent, pure, and practical love while preaching sound gospel to the congregation 

I pray that as followers of Christ we will all show Christlike love to everyone that comes our way in Jesus name, amen.

  Christ love produce cordial relationships between spouses, parent, children and siblings. It creates peaceful and spiritually enriching atmosphere in the home. A Godly family mirrors Christ likeness and prioritizes the wellbeing of everyone in the home.
